Home Depot generating revenue with video
According to a recent Business Week article, Home Depot will offer video content and advertising on their website.
Homedepot.com generates over 4 million shoppers each week. Suppliers want to get into the public eye and are running video-based ad content through their consumer site. All these companies have signed on as advertisers.
“Our vendors can definitely do much more online than with their in-store displays,” says Greg Foglesong, director of Web marketing and sales at Home Depot in Atlanta. “Vendors can communicate their stories of innovation, and new product selection via video.”
A great example of how organizations can use video to create new revenue streams. Home Depot is estimated to generate an additional 64 Million in revenue.
Other companies with similar business models are exploring how this venture would perform in their space.
